Job Details
The Executive Housekeeper reports directly to the Rooms Division Manager and is responsible for the planning, organization, development and direction for the overall operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. This individual will assure that the highest degree of cleanliness and quality guest service is maintained at all times.
- Possess strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with guest and team members.
- Previous Executive Housekeeper experience required, preferably in Caribbean or Isolated Destinations helpful.
- Knowledge of housekeeping policies and procedures required.
- Knowledge of budgeting, purchase orders, inventory, staff scheduling, lost & found claims and incident reports required.
- Ability to motivate, train and direct others.
- Supervises a staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, developing policies and procedures to ensure achievement of goals.
- Recruit, select, develop and retrain the best qualified talent in the various areas of housekeeping (to include room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff).
- Communicates to Housekeeping Inspectors and supervisors to adequately plan for housekeeping services & activities.
- Prepares and plans housekeeping budget and submits to Rooms Divisions Manager for review & approval.
- Seeks out new methods and principles, incorporating them into existing housekeeping practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Minimum high secondary diploma. Preferable to have specific hospitality training to include management planning, guest services and personnel/human resources.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years in housekeeping/rooms division department should have supervisor experience with planning and scheduling within department.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Should have good human relation shills.
Physical
- Should be professional and neat in appearance. Must be able to work minimum of eight (8) hours daily (extra hours as required) sometimes six (6) days weekly. Must be in good physical condition, as the job requires a great deal of walking and stairs and some lifting up to 50lbs at time
- Personal interest helpful if you enjoy living in the Caribbean and understand and appriciate the culture
