Director of Sales Full time position
REPORTS TO: VP Marketing & Sales
JOB SUMMARY:
Actively solicit group, leisure, incentive, event and meeting business to West Hollywood through direct sales. Work as a facilitator among the area’s hotels and other facilities to attract business to West Hollywood.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, develop and assume responsibility for implementation of a comprehensive sales and marketing program to bring business to West Hollywood.
- Develop the overall strategy and implement all direct sales programs including tradeshows, site visits, sales calls, city sales missions, client appreciation events, and fam trips. This is presented in a full Marketing Program including Sales Calendar and Trade Show Calendar.
- Create yearly programming calendar, highlighting co-op opportunities for hotels and event venues.
- Produce client appreciation events in major feeder markets.
- Work closely with CTTC to establish brand internationally.
- Maintain a well informed, working knowledge of the facilities, attractions and services, private and public, available in the area.
- Maintain good relationships with managers and staff of all area hotels and facilities.
- Maintain familiarity with competing destinations and issues that impact West Hollywood’s ability to compete.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with DOS’s of hotels/facilities.
- Oversee and manage sales budget with supervision of VP Marketing & Sales
- Produce Monthly Sales Reports.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Travel & Tourism or related field. Computer experience with word processing (preferably Microsoft Word) and Excel is necessary. Minimum of 2 years sales in hospitality industry required, preferably hotel sales or CVB sales.
