In this key role, you are responsible for developing, growing, and managing hotel sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement sales policies and procedures established in Marketing Plan.
- Create plans based on comprehensive knowledge of market position, banquet and food and beverage revenues, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning.
- Establish priorities for sales and marketing program and projects.
- Manage department and achieve budgeted revenues and expenses while maximizing profitability.
- Achieve and exceed team and individual goals.
- Keep current and utilize knowledge on local and outside markets and competition and potential impact on sales strategies.
- Utilize room-merchandising information to assess, evaluate, and revise program parameters.
- Conduct staff meetings and training to keep communications timely and motivate team.
- Develop short and long term financial and operational plans and help with budget.
- Develop and maintain department job specifications chart outlining market responsibilities by markets, geography, etc. with individual and department objectives and goals.
- Increase guest satisfaction through delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.
- Maintain and correct policies and procedures on credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets.
- Effectively develop and manage relationships with key accounts.
- Maintain professionalism and respond/resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in hotel sales, preferably in full-service property with meeting space.
- College degree in sales, hospitality management, or business – a plus.
- Highly motivated, self-directed sales management professional with results-oriented drive, sense of urgency, and proven abilities to close deals and sell.
- Must have demonstrated results in leading sales team, improving market share, and developing sales staff.
- Knowledgeable on room merchandising, hotel revenues, etc. and able to evaluate and revise programs.
- Professional attitude, quality work products, and team-building spirit to inspire team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of English language to communicate with customers, associates, and vendors.
- Attention to details, very organized, and timely completion of projects.
- Strong skills in MS Word and sales and accounting applications.
- Fully knowledgeable on all areas of hotel and departments’ interdependencies and limitations that could impact sales strategies.
- Proven success in maintaining and building relationships with existing accounts while aggressively developing new business.
- Represent the hotel in professional manner with community, vendors, customers, and staff.
- Available to travel and work weekend/evening MOD shifts, as needed.
