  • Overall responsibility for the operations of the Hotel.
  • Analyze company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be reorganized, downsized, or eliminated.
  • Allocate funds to departments and approve expenditures based on budgetary guidelines.
  • Establish expected standards for service to guests and members, decor, Cabin Housekeeping, food quality, and banquet operations.
  • Supervise and motivate YOTEL’s crew.
  • Manage the Hotel to achieve the set financial target.
  • Meet and Greet guests.
  • Establish and maintain cordial relationships with hotel crew members.
  • Responsible for preparing budgets, marketing strategies and setting targets for the YOTEL New York.
  • Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits, such as need for increase in subscription.
  • Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment, which would increase efficiency and services
  • Approve requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of the budget.
  • Direct investigations into causes of customer complaints and report to Leadership Team, if necessary
  • Negotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers.
  • Act as representative before government commissions or regulatory bodies during the review of policies or procedures.
  • Conduct performance appraisal/review for crew members under your supervision.
  • Meet with all leaders to review/discuss their crew members' performance appraisals.
  • Meet regularly with department heads to keep informed, offer direction, motivate, plan and coordinate.
  • Responsible for informing new members of the Hotel's rules and regulations.
  • Actively participate and conduct New Hire Orientation Training.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of crew members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by crew members and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Develop Junior Leaders for future advancement through competency training programs
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with YOTEL New York’s Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high YOTEL New York’s standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with YOTEL New York’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

Any other duties assigned by General Manager or Operations Director

  • Hotel Manager/ AGM within a large, (min 400+ key) 4* branded hotel
  • Property with experience in a Rooms Division role preferably
  • Contractually aware with firsthand experience of dealing with union labor and outsourced operations
  • Crisis management experience with media training a preference
  • Strong presentational skills and firsthand experience of presentation to leadership and board levels
