The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and the Director of Hotel Accounting and provide strategic and financial analytical support for both ownership and senior management across departments.  Ongoing duties will include preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports; working with Department Heads on budget creation, maintenance and analysis; maintaining financial projections; supporting the senior management team on driving cost savings initiatives; and performing ad hoc analysis as requested.  He or she will play a critical role in providing assessments of historical and forward-looking financial performance, including analysis of variances and trends, risks and opportunities, and communication of business insights.

  • Work with VP of Finance to develop key financial metrics and reporting standards
  • Communicate directly with C-level and other company executives
  • Prepare daily / weekly / monthly financial reports for senior management and quarterly presentations for the Advisory Board
  • Become go to administrator for financial reporting and budgeting systems
  • Create and implement new reporting standards including financial, KPI and operational reports
  • Perform monthly financial analysis for each Department and the consolidated business on a monthly basis
  • Work with Departments to develop and maintain budgets and prepare variance analyses on a monthly basis
  • Perform detailed cost analyses and work alongside the CFO and Head of FP&A to promote cost savings initiatives across the Company
  • Prepare special studies or ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management
  • Maintain and develop financial projections

 

 

 

  • BA/BS degree with strong academic record; Accounting or Finance degree a plus
  • At least 2-3 years of post-graduate level experience in finance and/or hospitality (hotels, restaurants, nightlife, private equity, investment banking or corporate finance)
  • Knowledge of hotel and restaurant operations
  • Technology Savvy, ability to work and manage multiple systems across company
  • Ability to deal with complex processes and systems
  • Attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex financial information to all levels in the organization
  • Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, excellent teamwork skills and an ability to work cross-functionally
  • Team player who is willing to pitch in and help out where necessary
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to operate with reasonable flexibility
  • Willingness to be based in New York City
  • MS Dynamics or MS Forecaster experience a plus
  • Exceptional Excel skills including: financial modeling; sensitivity analysis; ROI, NPV and IRR analysis
