How you will serve our residents and our community:
- Consistently and genuinely demonstrates the STARS principles of Service, Teamwork, Action, Reputation and Success in all activities and interactions.
- Assures that the physical plant and grounds are properly maintained in a clean, orderly and safe manner, such that the customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensures all required and necessary service contracts are in place and renewed annually such to optimize service while minimizing expense.
- Properly tracks and documents all preventive maintenance and resident work orders assuring that all work performed is done so in the highest quality possible.
- Purchases equipment/supplies in accordance with established budgets, purchasing policies and procedures.
- Recruits and selects associates following BVSL hiring standards and tools; forward final candidates to Executive Director for final approval.
- Effectively manages Housekeeping Department.
- Maintains an accurate accounting of services chargeable to residents and submit to the business office.
- Performs driver responsibilities as required to accommodate resident needs and expectations.
- Assists with the setup and tear-down for special events and activities.
- Ensures safe and proper storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment.
- Obtains multiple proposals on capital purchases, renovation projects and service agreements.
- Assumes on-call responsibilities to ensure after-hours response to resident emergencies and physical plant problems.
- Effectively administers and participates in Brightview’s “Manager on Duty” program.
- Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
With our residents in mind, the right candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- HVAC certification and experience (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Own and be willing to use on site personal hand tools (i.e. hammers, screw drivers, etc.).
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and painting.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong customer orientation to older adults.
- Valid and appropriate driver’s license with driving record in good standing.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
