We are currently seeking a Payroll Manager for the Corporate Office in Greenville, SC.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
This position manages the payroll function to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll information and related data for the Company.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure accurate and timely process of payroll in fast-paced environment.
- Generate and review payroll reports by division.
- Process wage assignments, support orders and subpoenas.
- Interact with outside federal, state and local government agencies.
- Oversee the process for deductions in leave, vacation, sick time, etc.
- Audit garnishments monthly for accuracy.
- Verify time card and employee input information for both salary and hourly employees.
- Oversee the process of employment verification.
- Review and distribute W-2 forms.
- Oversee the process of manual check submission and distribution.
- Process and pay Workers Compensation payments.
- Audit quarterly and monthly tax submission.
- Provide and maintain all payroll records.
- Manage strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Mentor and teach employees and internal professionals on best practices.
- Institute best financial practices throughout department.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.
- 5 years payroll experience.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with time keeping functions.
- Demonstrated understanding of laws relating to pay and employee relations.
- Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
- Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
Preferred:
- 1 year interactive HR experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility is needed to attend various meetings and events. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Travel may be required.
