Special Events Coordinator
job description: Essential Job Functions:
* Assist with coordination, organization and carrying out special projects related to Food and Beverage department.
* Events coordinator for F&B and Sales - to oversee property events. Handle pre-event planning, proposals, resumes, BEO, contracts, event management. Enter all event details into Delphi.
* Serve as contact person for all event inquiries, oversee assigned events, and assist production agencies.
* Helps cultivate promotional events and contacts and serve as a liaison for marketing components of city wide relationships (IMG swim show, Art Basel, WMC, Food and Wine Festival, Miami City Ballet among others.) * Provides support to Food and Beverage department and all personnel. * Plays a central role communicating internally between management and support staff. * Oversees filing for all documents within department; maintaining and updating departmental spreadsheets (e.g., directory, birthday list, gaming badge list). * Performs general duties including answering phones, computer data entry, mail sorting, etc. * Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner. * Ensure guest contact is courteous, informative and thorough. * Responsible for documenting and tracking expenses while monitoring monthly budget. * Prepare notes, correspondence, and reports on a computer. * Assist with department schedule.
* Responsible for generating purchase orders for Management.
* Follow up on projects and assignments given by the F&B management team and GM.
job requirements: Qualifications: * High school diploma, some college preferred or customer service required. * Secretarial experience preferred (typing 40 WPM and 10-key required); effective time management skills; requires little or no supervision. * Experience using Microsoft Office. * Excellent administrative skills along with excellent verbal and written communications. * Must be task-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and solve problems in stressful situations with little or no supervision. * Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends. * Must pass background check. * Must present a well-groomed appearance. Physical, mental, and environmental demands: * Must have the ability to handle necessary items while on the job (pens, keyboard, and folders). * Must be able to work with both a team mentality and a professional attitude. * Must have strong written and verbal skills. * Ability to interact with senior management as well as line level employees. * Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items as necessary. * Able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guests demands in a fast-pace environment. * Able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. * Able to read, write, speak, and understand English, Spanish speakers is a plus but not required.
* Must be able to maneuver around casino/office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and respond to visual and aural cues.
