Job Description

Summary:

Provide managerial and administrative clerical support to Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Kimpton Hotels of South Florida inclusive of but not limited to;  EPIC Miami, Surfcomber Miami, South Beach and Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. A successful person for this role will be a: self leader, contributor,  strong organizationally, able to handle multiple tasks, event coordinator,  thinker, solution provider, visionary, expediter, and supporter…

Marketing: 50%

Visit Area hotels as needed to coordinate events and press FAMs with local DOSM

  • Secure and follow through with marketing partners new and existing
  • Manage integrated campaigns inclusive of Marketing, PR, Revenue, Online and Distribution including but not limited to partnerships, group promotions, room promotions and social catering events
  • Manage and liaise with creative/ advertising agency’s to create and or proof collateral pieces to insure each hotels brand integrity is maintained 

Public Relations: 20%

  • Manage and liaise with public relations firm by communicating upcoming promotions and events
  • Host, meet and greet journalists and track ROI via editorials
  • Coordinate Media trips from start to finish
  • Administration of journalist site inspections and press trips, which includes room reservations, and airport, transfers, including follow up on special requests. The reservation form used for all hotels is a template…Highlight within the document "Press/Media Reservation", name of journalist, title and name of publication or electronic Media, advise why they are here and any personal items we should know to make their stay more enjoyable and informative

Social Media Coordination - 20%

Create, Drive, Measure social media campaigns on Facebook and across all social media channels to boost traffic and increase revenue 

  • Manager Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest channels as needed and when needed on regular basis

Administrative- 10%

  • Maintain ongoing PR and Marketing calendar of events
  • Develop and produce weekly and monthly reports
  • Handle incoming calls and take messages relative to discipline
  • Maintain jpeg files and CD library, as well as duplication of CD's
  • Develop PowerPoint and assorted presentations as required and needed by the various departments
  • Complete all correspondence pertaining to Marketing PR department
  • Responsible to organize “share drive”, order and maintain adequate inventory of photography by topic i.e. Food and Beverage Catering / Restaurant, / Guestrooms/ Spa etc…for all properties in Area for distribution as directed
  • Create and Maintain weekly PR log as received by Agency
  • Reconcile department G/L monthly
  • Manage along with ADOSM sales and marketing budget for all hotels in region as needed. In particular EPIC

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or minimum 18 months in Sales, Marketing, PR, or similar industry

KNOWLEDGE

Excellent command of the English language both writing and verbal communication skills, Computer Literacy and working knowledge of Delphi Sales Software, Synexis, Ariba, Lanyon, and Nexis. Administrative software knowledge such as Power point, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office etc… is a strong skill set

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficient at all levels of English and Spanish, to include reading, writing, and speaking. Able to read and Interpret financial statements. Able to create and conduct presentations to top management, peers, Boards of Directors, and Public Groups that is creative, informative, and presents our/your point respectfully and timely. Computer literate in (but not limited to) Microsoft Word, Delphi Sales Systems, Excel, Microsoft Power Point etc…

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, commission, proportions, percentages, and build formulas using excel

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and effectively handle client management. Deal with a variety of concrete and variable situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, must use good common sense and have the ability to negotiate thru difficult situations.
