Job Description
* Develop and maintain sales revenue to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales quota.
* Identify and close sales on a local, regional and national market level.
* Penetrate and saturate prospective and existing customer organizations for effective multi-department selling.
* Take initiative to cultivate all lead sources to generate new and incremental business - this is a hunter position.
* Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, National Sales Office and other sources.
* Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers for direct referrals.
* Know competitors top accounts, decision makers, rates and what it will take to move business.
* Participate in joint sales calls with the General Manager and sales and/or catering managers who participate in sales.
* Prepare weekly sales meetings.
* Rigorously follow up with all leads in a timely manner.
* Identify referrals and send cold leads back to the sales team for lead generation.
* Qualify in-house guests for additional business and referrals.
* Complete weekly sales call reports and maintain Opera Sales & Catering. Submit reports to the General Manager, Regional Sales Director and Home Office, as requested.
* Help coordinate yield management with the General Manager and Regional Revenue Manager.
* Maintain an active and visible position in the local community and industry.
* Participate in community activities, team member functions and guest events.
* Coordinate with other hotel departments and personnel, all sales information necessary for the professional execution of commitments and provide excellent customer service and leadership to sales and the hotel's management team.
Hotel is currently under going a full multi- million dollar renovation. Holiday Inn experience is preferred.
Job Requirements
* Must have a minimum of three years hotel sales experience and one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
* Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
* Must be able to work independently and multi-task prioritizing as
appropriate.
* Must have excellent organization and communications skills.
* Must be knowledgeable of computers, excel, yield management, and
hotel budgets.
* Local candidates preferred.
