Cage Manager

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Cage Shift Manager works with Management to fulfill objectives and goals within the Cage Department. The Shift Manager oversees the activities of the cashiers and supervisors during the scheduled shift. Safeguards company assets by ensuring the Internal Control Procedures are followed and being vigilant of irregularities. Helps develop policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal and tribal regulations; manages, directs and develops staff; prepares and conducts performance reviews; provides direction and guidance for the Shift. Presents oneself in a neat and clean appearance. Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times and projects a positive image for the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable Tribal, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listens and responds to guest and employee concerns and questions.
  • Responsible for systems maintenance, reviews management department policies and procedures.
  • Assists in developing departmental budget.
  • Attends and satisfactorily completes all training as assigned.
  • Performs Cage Supervisors duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Ability to be present at work assigned schedule including, nights, weekends, holidays, special events, and extended hours when required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Title 31 requirements and IRS Currency Transaction Reports.
  • Able to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to understand complex instructions and material. Ability to mentally process abstract ideas.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment with strong skills in Microsoft Office, with experience or knowledge of property specific software or computer applications preferred.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and communicate ideas in English.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises day-to-day activities; provides training, planning, assigning and directing work; interviews and hires; appraises performance, rewards, and disciples employees; corrects and approves time cards, schedules time off, and posts shift bids; and addresses complaints and resolves problems. Must have the ability to get work done through others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Two year degree in Accounting or relevant training plus one to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have three to five (3-5) years' supervisory experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Spanish or other language skills a plus.

EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION:

Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States. Required to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the KTTT Gaming Commission. Responsible to keep all documents current and valid at all times.
