Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually
  • Direct and manage sales & marketing team to include group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel
  • Work with Marketing Manager and assist with managing/directing all local advertising, public relations and promotional activities
  • Oversee all marketing and sales partnerships and promotions
  • Handle top Group and Transient accounts for the hotel
  • Analyze critical pieces of business/accounts and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service
  • Assist Sales and Catering Managers in obtaining necessary customer information and closing business as required
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings
  • Write and execute annual hotel marketing plan in order to maintain as well as uncover new business
  • Performs the role of industry spokesperson and representative for hotel
  • Conduct/attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings required/requested.
  • Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management
  • Works with Director of Revenue and GM to ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues
  • Oversee relationship with reservations to ensure response time is in line with luxury standards
  • Ensures that all decisions and resulting actions are aligned with the Surrey policy of 100% guest satisfaction producing a high level of service.
  • Has a strategic perspective by continuously developing our brand and integrating it into every aspect of the guest experience.
  • Complete monthly sales activity reports and other required Affinia reports
  • Perform other related duties as requested

 

Technical Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent working knowledge of all operating processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all market segments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of PMS, Delphi and appropriate PC applications                              
  • Operational knowledge of reservations sales process
  • Operational knowledge of national sales process
  • Familiar with legal and contractual agreements
  • Able to develop and manage budgets

          

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • On Property DOS experience required (NYC hotel experience preferred but not required)
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation
  • Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability.
  • Minimum of five years of sales leadership in similar sized operation

Desirable:

  • Delphi Knowledge.
