Aloft Cleveland Downtown

The Aloft Cleveland Downtown is a newly constructed property with a projected opening of June 2013. A General Manager is needed immediately to facilitate hiring, training and the opening process. Aloft is a Starwood Property and must adhere to Starwood guidelines.
The General Manager must proactively lead the operations of Rooms, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to maximize financial performance and guest satisfaction while upholding brand standards. The GM will direct, manage and train sales while actively participating in the sales process, including strategies, tours and customer meetings. The GM will develop and monitor annual business and marketing plans and work with the Controller in development and monitoring of the annual budget. The GM will also conduct regular meetings with both management and line level employees.
A minimum of a bachelors degree, preferably in Hospitality or Business Management is required along with a minimum of four years hotel management experience.
The candidate must have an extensive knowledge of revenue management and sales skills. Must have the ability of assess, supervise and evaluate other employees' performance. Candidate must be willing and able to participate in the short and long term financial and operational goals of the hotel. Also, ensure that the guest satisfaction is consistently obtained and maintained. Must possess advanced knowledge of principals and practices within all hotel disciplines, including knowledge for management of people and ability to solve complex problems.
