Job Description

Hotel Angeleno is seeking an energetic, passionate, service-oriented, motivated team player to work in partnership with the Director of Sales & Marketing selling overnight guestrooms and services of the hotel, reaching sales goals by securing new business, and maintaining and strengthening account relationships in accordance with the strategic objectives and selective selling guidelines to meet and exceed driven Group & Transient revenue components.
 

Job Requirements

  • Present a pleasant professional image to all potential guests and clients
  • Weekly telephone research professionally qualifying all local and regional outside sales calls. Appointments should be made where possible and specific information obtained prior to actual call.
  • Aggressively pursue all appropriate opportunities for outside customer solicitation and relationship building including: Outside Sales Calls, Civic Association Events, Trade Events, Industry Vendor Relationships, etc.
  • Develop and maintain an "active and inactive" file depicting all outside sales call activity
  • Upon request of clients and in the absence of appropriate designated sales colleagues, book overnight accommodations for all group types. Upon return of appropriate sales colleagues, clearly communicate all transactions made.
  • Correspond with potential customers providing any requested information concerning bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, thank you letters, follow-up letters, etc.
  • Conduct hotel tours and entertain qualified potential clients in accordance with the company property policies.
  • Implement primary tactics for assigned market segments
  • Assist and supervise Director of Sales & Marketing with primary tactics for their assigned market segments .
  • Submit required monthly/quarterly/annual reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Local community involvement as it benefits the hotel, via approved memberships in organizations.
  • Adhere to time and attendance policy as established.
  • Contribute and work as a "team" member in all facets of the position.
  • Perform other services and duties as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing and the General Manager. May be called upon to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel, and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.

*Experience with UCLA or working with the University of California system a plus.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or two-four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
