Definition:
This position oversees, manages, supports, optimizes and evolves the Windows environment, including the Active Directory domain, Windows Servers, MSSQL Servers and all Windows based PCs, thin clients and virtual desktops.
General Duties:
- Support a Microsoft Server 2003 AD environment in order to meet and maintain appropriate service levels.
- Install, tune, troubleshoot, maintain and perform upgrades and back-ups of Windows Servers and SQL Server Databases.
- Create and deploy GPOs and logon/logoff, startup/shutdown scripts.
- Perform general system administration duties in a Windows Active Directory environment.
- Monitor Windows 2003/2008/2012 servers and troubleshoot problems.
- Responsible for software and hardware tracking, establishing system baselines, patch management, license management and revision control.
- Maintain security standards in accordance with PCI DSS Regulations.
- Install, configure and maintain server hardware
- Create, deploy and maintain PC images and Software Distribution packages.
- Maintain Enterprise Antivirus solution; ensure endpoint compliance standards.
- Interface directly with End Users; provide phone and face-to-face support for Desktop and Terminal Server applications.
- Provide a point of escalation and support to IT Techs.
- Participate in routine maintenance activities as required.
- Coordinate and assist external vendors with the resolution of software and hardware issues
- Produce appropriate documentation for application deployment, configuration, and related processes.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on the Microsoft Active Directory.
Employment standards:
- Two years working experience at a domain administrator level supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2003/2008 and Active Directory.
- Expertise configuring and supporting Windows Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services.
- Expert understanding of MS Office 2003/2007/2010, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Must have good understanding of networks and IP and LAN protocols
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing VBScript and T-SQL
- Basic Blackberry/Android/iPhone/iPad support experience
- Basic understanding of VMware and Hyper-V virtual environments
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills, with responsibility for supporting multiple applications and network environments.
- Ability to work as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Demonstrated experience managing large complex projects related to critical business functions.
- Must be a good team player with a strong team concept and self-motivated.
- Excellent prioritization, organizational and troubleshooting skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus.
- Hospitality IT experience is a plus.
- Linux experience, including server management, bash/perl/python scripting is a plus.
