Flik International , a division of Compass Group North America is seeking a Sales Manager for the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley, MA. This full service conference center offers 211 rooms and 22,500 square feet of meeting space. Ideal candidate will strategically sell conference center space, including related services, and food and beverage needs to groups and companies and will focus on day meetings or groups utilizing 10 or less sleeping rooms. Will be guided to achieve/exceed annual budgeted sales goals by performing direct sales solicitation while developing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts; managing account details and preparing reports; responding to all telephone and in-person inquiries to promote the Conference Center. Responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring timely responses to all inquiries for space or service needs. Confer with customers in all phases of their meeting/conference to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

  • Must effectively plan and communicate to all departments the expressed need of the customer.
  • Maintain a tracking system for all potential customers.
  • Ensure that all appropriate communication for upcoming business is complete and distributed in a timely manner to the management team.
  • Organize sales and marketing efforts to ensure that the maximum exposure is purchased for the monies that are spent.
  • Oversee and conduct sales calls, prospecting and meet all quotas to ensure that the quarterly and annual goals are met.
  • Complete knowledge of the Property Management System.
  • Engage in educational and team building activities to strengthen personal value and departmental relationships.

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 5 years hotel or conference center sales experience.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, share information with all staff.
  • Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills.
  • Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in our business.
