The Berkeley / Amsterdam Hospitality is currently seeking a Front Office Manager.

 

Essential Job Functions

·       Responsible for overall guest service of the hotel by maintaining an organized and efficient Front Desk operation

·       Prepares weekly work schedules in accordance with forecasted occupancy

·       Supervises the day to day activities of front desk, and Night Audit staff

·       Utilizes leadership skills and motivation techniques in order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction of direct reports

·       Selects, orients, and trains qualified employees; conducts effective employee meetings and counseling sessions. Employs discipline as required

·       Determines, communicates, and monitors achievement and standards of performance on a timely basis

·       Meets and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring department provides outstanding customer service and teamwork

·       Conducts department training on a regular basis skills including training to provide value added service to customers

·       Utilizes one-on-one training skills where appropriate

·       Monitors service and teamwork on a regular basis and counsels and recommends terminating associates as needed

·       Coordinates staffing and payroll to conform to productivity and budgetary standards

·       Prepares payroll as required

·       Monitors actual vs. budget payroll activities

·       Assists with yearly budget

·       Works side by side with front desk associates when necessary to provide outstanding guest service and achieving productivity goals

·       Insures that standards are met

·       Works scheduled Manager on Duty shifts on a monthly basis

·       Maintains safe working conditions within department and hotel

·       Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of work areas

·       Maintains proper front desk supplies inventory

·       Conducts inventories as assigned

·       Coordinates Front Desk work with other departments:  Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, etc.

·       Confers closely with the Hotel Manager at all times and takes every opportunity to become familiar with all aspects of the hotel in order to assist wherever required

·       Keeps immediate supervisors promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance

·       Develop and maintain productive interpersonal relationships and the ability to relate well with a wide variety of individuals, many of who will require patience and tolerance

·       Performs other duties as assigned

·       To be successful in this position a college degree is preferred; 2-3 years hotel management front desk experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  

·       Knowledge of other hotel departments and beverage liquor / inventory a plus. 

·       Experience with Opera PMS preferred.
