We are currently seeking a Concessions Manager for Centerplate at the Nashville Sounds in Nashville, TN.
The Nashville Sounds are a minor league baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), and the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Nashville, Tennessee, and are named for the city's association with the music industry. The team plays its home games at Herschel Greer Stadium, which opened in 1978 and holds 10,300 fans.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: This position manages the concessions area to ensure timely food production, quality guest services and sanitation of stands at all times.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development of short and long term financial and operational plans.
- Monitor the performance of the unit through verification and analysis of customer satisfaction and financial analysis.
- Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating customer concerns.
- Recommend and maintain a pro-active human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training, development and compliance.
- Hire, terminate, discipline, evaluate performances and develop each employee to their potential.
- Recommend, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist in the maintenance of a security function.
- Assist in the development of programs that result in increased customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Comply with established Company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all applicable state, local and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure proper, accurate, and timely production records in order to service guests and control food cost.
- Verify and maintain inventory at established levels.
- Coordinate activities with deck managers and other departments when necessary.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures are in effect at all times.
- Perform a daily inventory of chargeable items in each stand prior to arrival of staff members.
- Perform a monthly inventory of non chargeable items at months end.
- Minimize legal liability and conform to the regulations of the alcohol beverage authority.
- Implement and enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Required:
- Minimum of two years college education.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
- Knowledge of food and beverage.
- Basic math skills.
- Experience in operating and reading computerized cash register and tape readouts.
- At least 2 years of managerial experience in a similar role.
- Previous Inventory experience.
- Experience with large volume cash sales.
- Previous Catering experience.
Preferred:
- Previous Event Hospitality, or similar venue-related experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Requires occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds in weight (kegs and boxes).
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
