The independent not-for-profit organization represents more than 700 businesses throughout Tampa Bay and promotes the area as a choice destination for conventions and visitors.
Currently, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and driven professional to join our team as a Business Development Manager. This person will be responsible for prospecting and qualifying new business for Tampa Bay & Company
Responsibilities
- Research and generate convention and hotel opportunities to be distributed to the appropriate Sales Manager for follow up.
- Achieve the assigned sales goals for prospecting telephone calls, tentative and definite lead production, correspondence and account qualification.
- Develop, clean, and maintain up-to-date meeting planner, lead, contact and account information in CRM.
- Prospect for new business utilizing MINT, CRM, publications and other databases/directories.
- Qualify contacts met at tradeshows, obtained via online, direct mail, advertising or other sources.
- Maintain a well informed working knowledge of all hotels, attractions and services, both public and private available in the area; develop and maintain a close working relationship with personnel from each facility.
- Provide Sales Managers with the necessary information that will enable them to properly evaluate and correctly bid for conventions, meetings, or trade show business.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Degree from an accredited college or university, business or hospitality institution, or experience in sales or the hospitality industry.
