We are pleased to announce a new hotel is coming to Charlotte, NC this Summer. The Hyatt Place, Charlotte will be operated by Prospera Hospitality Management Company (www.prosperahospitality.com). We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual for the position of General Manager for this full service hotel.

The position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent organization, communication skills, strong leadership capabilities and detail orientation. To be successful you must possess excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.

The responsibilities of the General Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the overall operation and management of the Hotel.
  • Expected to be active in the downtown Charlotte community.
  • Must be able to meet and exceed Hyatt Brand Standards and create and maintain a positive working relationship with the brand.
  • Oversite duties include: condominium owners and association, cooperation with leased restaurant operation, retail and office space.
  • Prepares and submits the hotel's annual business plan.
  • Remains current on business trends and local activities and responds to the same.
  • Maintains personal contact with guests and with client and community organizations.
  • Ensures implementation of marketing programs.
  • Maintains product and service quality standards
  • Reviews and approves accounting and management reports.
  • Compares actual performance to planned performance and initiates corrective action.
  • Maintains purchasing system which covers all areas and which conforms to division guidelines.
  • Ensures adequate resources are maintained to maximize employee performance.
  • Ensures all positions are filled with qualified personnel.
  • Ensures established procedures are followed for employment/termination of staff.
  • Maintains procedures for orientation, training and development of all personnel.
  • Maintains established procedures for the periodic appraisal of all personnel.
  • Reviews and approves work schedules and assigns management on duty responsibilities.
  • Ensures proper care, maintenance and security of hotel's furnishings, fixtures and equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years current, full service and/or boutique General Manager experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Hyatt experience a plus
