Astra Management LLC, a Newark, Delaware based hotel management company is currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to work with multiple hotels and corporate entities. The Accounting Assistant’s role is to assist the Hotel Accountant in the daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes by performing the following duties:
- Review accounts payable postings made by the hotels
- Process accounts payable disbursements in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly journal entries and post to the general ledger
- Perform multiple bank statement reconciliations
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Assist with monthly preparation of financial statements
- Audit daily income journal reports
- Process payroll online with ADP for the hotels
Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience with hotel accounting
- 3-5 years general accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Strong Excel and Word experience
- Experience with M3 accounting software a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while meeting deadlines
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
