Job Description

General Manager-Doubletree Hotel Los Angeles South Bay

We are currently seeking a Hotel General Manager for the DoubleTree Hotel Los Angeles South Bay area. This position will direct and coordinate activities of the hotel to obtain optimum efficiency of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through direct report supervisors. The General Manager's responsibilities include the overall daily operation of the hotel including all of the activities within, revenue management, fiscal planning, guest, and community relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Direct the daily operations of the Hotel.
  • Develop and manage the property budget; oversee purchases and monitor all expenses.
  • Responsible for preparation and management of the hotel budget and ongoing forecasting.
  • Accountable for sales, marketing, and F&B departments.
  • Oversee risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure the business has effective operational monitoring in place and meets all statutory obligations.
  • Manage staff including hiring, training, developing, and disciplinary measures.
  • Oversee purchasing and payroll submission for the property.
  • Schedule and maintain adequate staffing levels while adhering to labor standards guidelines.
  • Motivate staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and reward and recognize employees.
  • Uphold company standards for guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection.
  • Maintain positive community relations.
  • Conduct staff meetings as needed.
Job Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience as a general manager in a full service hotel
  • Extensive sales, marketing, and F&B background
  • Operations management experience with demonstrated track record of developing and leading a team.
  • Encompass high levels of financial literacy with Profit & Loss Accountability, and Budget/Expense Management.
  • Apply a commercial business approach toward sound decision making and outcomes.
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Meet tight timeframes without compromising customer service or accuracy.
  • Demonstrate initiative in problem solving, is receptive and open to new ideas, and can adjust and respond accordingly.
  • Experience with database management systems.
