We're looking for an individual with a great "Yes I Can" attitude and a caring disposition to join our team as a Sales Manager.
The Sales Manager sells hotel guestrooms, catering services, and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Establishes client base of organizations, associations, social groups, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales, in order to secure business for the hotel.
2. Ensures that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
3. Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/ or convention business.
4. Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms agreements in writing and forwards document to client and affected hotel departments.
5. Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
6. Forecasts and accurately records all bookings and cancelations.
7. Assists the Director of Sales and Marketing with the implementation and achievement of the Sales Marketing plan.
8. Attends and represents company at trade shows and city-wide conventions.
9. Spends 50% of time each week away from hotel conducting outside Sales calls and Sales Blitzes.
10. Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.
11. Follows up to ensure client satisfaction.
12. Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and in business attire.
13. Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
14. Fulfills Manager on Duty shifts.
15. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing.
16. Communicates effectively with all departments of the hotel
Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two-years of work experience in hotel sales field is preferred.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
· minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in Hotel sales is required.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
· Strong computer skills
· Understand and use computers and related equipment.
· Must be able to communicate in English verbally and written.
