The Banquet Manager's role will be to facilitate first class events that not only exceed member expectations but create "raving fans." These events range from 25-1000 people and can include weddings, galas, business meetings, social gatherings, tournament social functions, holiday parties, club sponsored events, etc. The Coordinator will lead CCL staff in delivering highly personalized assistance to our members by providing a "high touch experience" that includes helping the host in almost every aspect of their event from booking to perfect execution. The Coordinator will work in conjunction with the entire Food and Beverage team with a focus on: personalized and professional service, increased sales, effective communication, fiscal responsibility, and member satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Strategically hire, schedule, and train all banquet staff. This includes daily, monthly and/or weekly trainings, pre-shift meetings, and illustration of proper techniques, attitude and etiquette.
  • Effectively communicate in a calm and positive demeanor with any and all departments, staff members, managers, members, vendors, sponsored hosts, etc, in order to ensure quality cuisine and service, timely execution of the event and adherence to all applicable state, local, and federal laws as well as CCL rules, regulation and policies. (Health Dept, OSHA, ALE, etc)
  • Cultivate, mentor, empower, develop and lead all F&B staff. Constant and consistent evaluation of staff performance to include goal setting and action plans for achievement of those goals.
  • Timely and accurate billing (Northstar) and tracking (PnLs, transfers,logs) of all charges. Inventory of small wares, liquor, beer and wine.
  • Consistently employ sound judgment, honesty and fiscal prudence in all operations. Operate the Event department with an approach that emphasizes creative cost cutting and revenue generation anchored by an understanding of industry standard business techniques and strategies.
  • Supervise the accurate and detail oriented set up, service and breakdown of function rooms in accordance with CCL standards and BEO guidelines.
  • Act as a steward of CCL's property, assets and facilities.
  • Be well versed in all pertinent Club information including: club history, upcoming events (all depts), policy/rules/regs, operating hours, menus and key staff names and titles. Attend and participate in a all required meetings.
  • Consistently strive to be an enthusiastic and visionary leader who inspires to improve themselves, CCL and those around him or her.
  • Understand and implement technology to improve all aspects of operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all CCL uniform and hygiene standards.

College Degree strongly preferred.

3 to 5 years of high touch event management/Food and Beverage experience. Private Country Club experience a plus.

The prospective Banquet Manager must be a charismatic, passionate professional with outstanding customer relations and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Should have skill in utilizing current technology in the club industry (Northstar experience a plus), and be knowledgeable as to coming trends in the hospitality arena, as well as the best use of such resources in communicating with members and staff.

The ability to gain the trust and respect of the management team, employees and membership is crucial for sustainable success. He/She will be confident, creative, enthusiastic, energetic, engaging, and a highly visible manager to the staff and membership.

He/She must be capable of a high degree of initiative, innovation and resourcefulness in directing the activities of a very busy club.

Must be able to present a professional image to the staff and to membership at all times.

He/She must have strong organizational skills and an obsession with covering the details necessary to consistently achieve high levels of quality and outstanding member experiences. He/she must have a strong commitment and proven record of consistent focus on personal and professional development.

Extensive standing and walking during events. Ability to move up to 30 pounds.
