  • Oversee and support the functions of Conference Managers in the preparation, planning and servicing of their accounts.
  • Assist Sales in prospecting new clients, and in developing and maintaining relationships. Sell all hotel facilities and exceed budgeted revenue through suggestive selling.
  • Works with Director of Sales and Marketing and Food & Beverage Director to strategize on menus, availability and proposals for all Catering Sales. Direct and assist managers in setting annual goals and objectives.
  • Personally manage all VIP business. Effectively solicit and service meetings and events for the hotel.
  • Maintain accuracy of Conference Management information in Delphi system.
  • Research, prepare and monitor annual budget and plan for its successful execution, including MSE and rooms related business.
  • Assist Banqueting Management to plan functions. Assist Operations to ensure proper running of functions.
  • Plan special yearly events for the festive seasons in coordination with restaurant promotions.
  • Produce regular reports for operational performance and financial reviews of food and beverage items consumption, banqueting rooms occupancy, and cover reports focusing on up-selling.
  • Forecast 3 months ahead of time for the department in coordination with the Sales, Catering Director and F&B Directors. Produce a full revenue and cost regulated budget.
  • Attend Daily Banquet Event Order Meetings to stay knowledgeable about menus, set ups, etc.
  • Handle all contracts after the definite phase. Contact client for introductions and handle all servicing aspects of the group until check-out including collecting rooming lists, confirming group needs and requests, collecting payment and handling any billing issues.
  • Ensure that all group needs are being met throughout the duration of their stay/meeting. Work closely with Front Office team to coordinate package/ amenity deliveries, with the Banquet team to run events, and with sales coordinators regarding pick-up and changes to rooms.
  • Follow up with meeting planner after event has concluded and share feedback with the team.
  • Four year college degree preferred.
  • Must have minimum 3 years related experience in a similar company with banquet/meeting sales, preferably as a Catering and Conference Manager.
  • Must have minimum 5 years Food and Beverage Management Experience.
  • Outstanding leadership, planning and selling skills. Proven ability to develop a strong team and produce revenue. Must display strong analytical, organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail. Leads by example/ hands-on approach.
  • Fluency in English is required, both written and verbal. Additional language ability considered a strong plus.
  • Work in a diverse environment with attention to cultural sensitivity.
  • Computer proficiency is required with a strong knowledge of all Microsoft suite of products. 
  • Ability to work a varied schedule based on business needs to include weekends and holidays.
  • Decision making skills, problem solving ability and planning and time management skills
  • Proven ability to take ownership and follow through on both internal and external communications.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time. Ability to bend and kneel, and to carry/lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 25 pounds.
