  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness, maintenance and set-up standards, as well as to verify status. Pay special attention to VIP and show rooms daily.
  • Maintain clean work area, keep office and storage areas well organized
  • Ensure all security, safety, hotel policies and procedures are observed and areas of responsibilities (keys, linen, supply closets and storeroom), grooming of employees and equipment.
  • Monitor daily assignments to ensure that proper quotas and productivity standards are maintained.
  • Assign rooms, turndown, houseman, public area and linen attendants on day to day basis. Handle weekly staff scheduling and assist with payroll requests.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling for better performance for room attendants, general cleaners, housemen, valet laundry and supervisors. Create high morale in the department and minimize turnover.
  • Coordinate with Front Desk and Engineering to provide lateral service.
  • Have working knowledge of cleaning products and materials in accordance with OSHA regulations and the hotel safety guidelines.
  • Have the ability to interact verbally and effectively with all hotel guests and employees in a polite and positive manner. Handle guest requests and issues and ensure proper and immediate follow up.
  • Give performance reviews to hourly associates and handle disciplinary actions.
  • Lead daily shift meetings and conduct standard trainings on SOPs and guest satisfaction scores. Maintain hotel's standards, policies and procedures with assigned staff.
  • Assist in cleaning rooms/ turndown when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information and convey the same sense of confidentiality to all employees.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guestrooms, hotel property and employees.
  • Carry a radio/ phone at all times and respond to requests immediately.
  • Any other tasks or projects as assigned by Director of Housekeeping.

  • 2-3 years of previous hotel experience
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Prefer candidate to have experience in a luxury setting in housekeeping, training and/or customer service.
  • Minimum high school education required
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team and work with limited supervision.
  • Work in a diverse environment with attention to cultural sensitivity
  • Computer proficiency is required with knowledge of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment. Ability to keep calm, responsive and friendly under pressure.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management, while providing information effectively
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fluency in English is required, both written and verbal; additional language ability considered a strong plus
  • Decision making skills, problem solving ability and planning and time management skills. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time; ability to carry/lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull up to 40 pounds
