Job Details
- Complete schedule for all Front Office departments to provide maximum service to guests, while adhering to budget guidelines
- Responsible for training all Front Office departments and supervise the associates in the performance of their duties
- Conduct performance evaluations and discipline employees when needed
- Communicate closely with the Night Manager and other Assistant Managers to ensure follow-up on any special projects, guest requests, glitches, etc.
- Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of VIPs and Return Guests, groups, etc. and to escort VIPs and Return Guests to their rooms
- Ensure adherence to all credit procedures in the Front Office; review reports and follow up on credit problems with front office manager
- Act in the absence of senior management in all matters concerning the safety, security and well-being of hotel guests, patrons, and employees
- Check agents’ work at close of shift to ensure all transactions are reconciled with proper approvals and endorsements
- Act as a liaison between the Front Office and all departments, especially Housekeeping and Engineering.
- Utilize the computer systems in house as well as the telephone switchboard
- Coordinate arrivals, departures, and billing requirements with sales/catering management
- Assist other departments as required to provide lateral service
- Be familiar with budget and occupancy numbers
- Check on all allowances and rate variances
- Follow up and resolve any room discrepancies
- 2-3 years of previous hotel experience
- 1-2 years of previous experience in a supervisory or management role
- Ability to keep calm, responsive and friendly under pressure
- Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft applications, inclusive of Word, Power point and Excel required
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management, while providing information effectively
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English is required; additional language ability is a plus
- Reference, background, drug test required. EOE
