We are seeking an Catering Sales & Event Coordinator for Centerplate at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.  

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an association of 1,281 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals that organizes the athletic programs of many colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. It is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
This position requires the management of sales related functions, including communicating with inside staff on a daily basis, creating effective new business techniques and maintaining customer service with current clients. As our singular goal is to be #1 in Event Hospitality, all of our managers, chefs and employees are "Hospitality Ambassadors."

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan food, beverage and set up for external events.
• Coordinate client’s AV, parking, gift shop, etc. with the vendors that are providing the services.
• Create Banquet event orders with all catering, set up, AV, and additional services arranged with the client.
• Create Diagrams for each event.
• Distribute all necessary paperwork to execute events to the Managers and Banquet staff.
• Obtain guaranteed guest counts and follow up after each event.
• Represent facility at business, community and social organizations and make sales   presentations as required.
• Maintain detailed records of account payment activity and oversee billing and collections.
• Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:

• 2 to 3 years experience in catering sales or Associate's degree.
• Must be adept at negotiating and closing sales.
• Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
• Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
• Must be able to operate a computer including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Requires occasional lifting of up 25 pounds in weight (boxes). Hours may be extended or
irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to exert well-placed mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility.
