Job Description

The Spa Manager manages the daily operation of the Spa to achieve customer and associate satisfaction, quality service and compliance with corporate/franchiser policies and procedures while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
The Spa Manager works with the Spa Director to ensure the smooth, seamless daily operation of the entire Spa. Recommends policy and procedural changes to the Director. Implements and monitors the section's budget and manages expenses within the approved budget constraints. Has management responsibility for the Retail Shop, Front Desk, Membership and Group Sales. Assume full responsibility for the Spa in the Spa Director's absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the daily operation of the Front Desk and coordinates the work with the Spa supervisors.
- Work with Sales Department staff meeting planners to create and execute all Spa group activities.
- Implement company programs and resolve daily, operational problems through consistent monitoring of Spa operations to ensure compliance with safety and security regulations, and SOPs and to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.
- Actively recruit new members and handle existing member's issues, ensuring positive relationships and loyalty.
- Supervise human resources in the Spa to retain and motivate associates; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.
- Review all schedules, equipment, supplies and organize work flow to ensure a quality event to customers on a daily basis.
- Order all retail products, maintain accurate inventory of the shop and ensure profitability.
- Assume responsibility for the Spa in the Director’s absence.
- Participate in all special projects, task forces and committees, as requested.
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: One to two years of post high school education.
Experience: A minimum of two years previous Spa supervisory/managerial experience. Experience in any of the key spa areas of hospitality, retail, sales or membership is required.
Skills/ Abilities: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the spa management and hospitality professions. This includes experiential knowledge for management of people, complex problems, efficient sales activities and spa/exercise management. Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations. Requires working knowledge of Excel, and Word. SpaSoft experience preferred.

Travel required: Minimal for sales, training, and task force purposes
Hours Required: Forty to fifty hours over a five day period; days and times may vary based on need.
