POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for generating room revenue for hotel. Efforts focused on penetrating existing accounts, uncovering new accounts and developing new business within assigned territory through aggressive phone-prospecting, direct sales calls and strategic partnerships.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sells at least 85% of the time.
- Maintains appropriate balance of account maintenance and prospecting for new business.
- Establishes and maintains effective and profitable relationships with clients.
- Responsible for achieving both assigned market room night/revenue budget along with the top-line revenue goals for the hotels.
- Assists Director of Sales & Marketing hotel specific goals/strategies in assigned territory to positively impact revenues.
- Familiar with hotels’ competitive set and shared accounts.
- Generates data, analyzes and recommends strategies and actions within assigned territory to impact business.
- Communicates a clear sense of strategic direction and goals for assigned territories/markets.
- Incorporates marketing strategies into sales strategies, where appropriate.
- Communicates trends, changes in market mix and competitive hotel stratagem to Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Organizes and conducts sales trips and attends assigned market specific tradeshows and local networking events as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Work with National Sales Team to communicate needs of the hotels, as appropriate.
- Keeps up on industry trends and seeks creative ways to infiltrate markets/accounts.
- Joins and attends appropriate market organizations.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains accurate and thorough notes/traces for accounts within the PMS and Delphi.
- Completes pre/post trip reports.
- Completes Call Reports for outside sales calls.
- Completes weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual production reports.
- Completes quarterly FJP for Director of Sales & Marketing review.
- Actively participates in weekly sales meetings.
- Participates in wine hour schedule.
- Regular analysis of industry intelligence reports (i.e. STR and Hotelligence)
- Pulls and analyzes appropriate data to develop and recommend appropriate actions within assigned territory.
- Assists with Annual Marketing Plan, as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong Selling Skills
- Adheres to the Kimpton T3 sales philosophy
- Knowledgeable on all brand sales/revenue programs
- Thorough knowledge of the hotels overall layout, rate structure and capacities
- Tenaciously owns sales group opportunities/promotional opportunities
- Adept on property PMS and Delphi
- Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up
- Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally
- Needs to possess nimbleness by changing with the needs of the hotels and the Kimpton Group

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hotel sales experience – Experiences in group segment is highly desirable.
- Previous structured sales training course a plus
