Reservations Agent

The Taj Boston, a luxury hotel, is seeking a reservations agent to join our dynamic hotel team. The hotel has 273 guestrooms, including 44 exquisitely designed suites with wood-burning fireplaces. Taj Boston occupies the city's most prestigious address at Arlington and Newbury Streets.

Below is a brief job description:

-Answer all incoming reservation calls in a timely manner while projecting a professional, courteous and enthusiastic attitude.

-Obtain accurate guest profile information and update existing profiles (guest name, e-mail, phone number, address, company, designation)

-Achieve complete familiarity with all hotel facilities and services and promote these facilities whenever possible

-Process all in-house reservation requests (email, fax etc…) and information including rooming lists, VIP forms, sales bookings

-Review and confirm all reservations generated from the Leading Hotels of the World and the Taj Hotels Reservations System

-Assist with restaurant reservations requests and inquiries as needed, and ability to describe food, restaurants and special events offerings

-Complete all other assignments, duties and tasks as assigned by management

-High school graduate

-1-2 years of previous hospitality experience preferred

-Must be organized, and able to work independently while balancing workload

-Previous work experience with Amadeus and/or reservations systems preferred

-Must be able to balance working a computer and telephone in an accurate and effective manner

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required

-Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include days, evenings, weekends, holidays

-Fluency in English is required, additional language ability is a plus
