The Aquarium - Banquet Operations Coordinator

The Aquarium located in Denver, CO is seeking a high energy, self-motivated Banquet Coordinator to join their team!

The Banquet Coordinator will be responsible for onsite training and coordination of banquet staff to ensure superior quality service for all meeting and banquet functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Directs the proper set-up and break-down of all banquet functions. Ensures employee and guest safety in the set-up and arrangement of banquet functions.
* Directs the proper service of food and beverage in accordance to contractual agreements.
* Conducts pre-function meetings with staff to ensure the proper service and requirements of banquet functions.

*Create room diagrams and individual staffing tasks for each event

* Directs and ensures the proper handling, usage and storage of all banquet equipment and supplies.
* Greets and maintains communication with the customer contact for payment. Ensures that all payments are processed by the end of the event.
* Records and reports bi-weekly inventories of all banquet supplies, and purchases additional supplies with the approval of the Sales Manager or General Manager.
* Maintains the cleanliness of all banquet rooms, service areas and equipment.
* Maintains constant communication with the Executive Chef, Sales Manager, and Aquarium Staff.
* Hires, trains, schedules and reviews all banquet staff. Checks quality of work, monitors improvements and performance, and ensures that staff adheres to hotel uniform and grooming standards.

*Perform onsite marketing such as passing out cards and offering guests information about our services

*Assist with Site Tours, Sales Blitzes, Concierge Program and additional sales tasks as requested.  

*Performs other duties as assigned

Must have 2+ yrs experience in banquet sales.   Great communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence in service is a must.
