JOB SUMMARY: This position performs a wide variety of skilled and semi skilled building and equipment maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.
Repairs and maintains facility buildings and equipment.
Repairs include building and room renovation, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical, and carpentry.
Makes repairs on mechanical, electric and plumbing equipment including furnace, cooling equipment and exhaust fans.
Performs preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
Does ground work and custodial work as necessary.
Keeps all equipment/property in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management.
Monitors and performs periodic tests on Fire Alarm/Life Safety System.
Assists in energy conservation by observing energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds; looks for ways to conserve energy; recommends any ideas to the Engineering Management.
Cleans, lubricates, protects and otherwise maintains all tools and equipment in the hotel.
Ensures that all tools/equipment used are returned to the shop and/or secured in proper storage area.
Assists in handling emergencies in order to protect our guest and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. Must act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
Keeps Engineering Management informed of any emergencies.
Completes all work assigned in a safe and professional manner.
Maintains communications with supervisors to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order. Follows up on any items that may be on back order.
Keeps supervisor updated on assignments.
Provides training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested.
Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, TPG and Marriott policies and procedures.
