Based in Tucson, AZ the Regional Sales Director is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned regional market. Directs on-property sales & service team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with Canyon Ranch’s vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base and contributes to the development of on property team by providing ongoing coaching and training opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Responsible for the performance and development of the on property sales & service team.
- Prepares action plans for individuals as well as for the team to ensure effective search of sales leads and prospects.
- Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Conducts one-on-one review with each member of the on property sales & service team to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.
- Provides timely feedback to vice president of sales regarding performance.
- Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all RFP’s, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin and preserve rate integrity.
- Meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and production.
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and activity reports to allow for the timely and accurate fulfillment of incentive plans.
- Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses and assists team in the same.
- Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Maintains a close relationship with top Canyon Ranch customers.
Relationships and Roles:
- Insures that each member of the on property sales & service team meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and production.
- Delegates’ authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
- Sets examples for team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Conducts regular coaching and counseling with team members to build motivation and selling skills.
- Maintains contact with all clients in the market to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all Canyon Ranch employees.
- 10 years of experience in hotel, resort or destination spa sales as a top producer.
- 2 years of experience in hotel, resort or destination spa sales management.
- Experience with Delphi or Delphi FDC.
- Willingness to travel and work with a team of corporate and on property professionals.
- Proven leadership and ability to drive sales and sales teams.
