Job Details
The Floor Attendant greets members, maintains weight room and assists member's getting set up on exercise machines producing a safe and effective workout in a motivating and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Present fitness program benefits to all members including but not limited to assisting with guest tours when applicable.
- Demonstrate safe and effective exercise techniques including sets, repetitions, rep. speed, range of motion, weight selection and exercise equipment settings as well as the ability to effectively assess and explain target heart-rate zone.
- Follow protocol for all fitness center rules and safety procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of company pricing and promotions regarding personal training.
- Maintain information on club history, background, philosophy, and policies.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of, and adhere to company policies and procedures; including but not limited to our dress code policy as set forth in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a positive relationship with entire staff.
- Log all maintenance concerns that are reported into the maintenance log in the reception area.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all time.
- Be familiar with all fitness center services/features/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.
- Own all requests and complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure member satisfaction.
- Take ownership in the functionality and cleanliness of the facility by demonstrating teamwork to maintain a safe clean club. ( i.e., Re-rack weights,
wipe down bathroom countertops, lubricate machines, and refill overflowing trash, as deemed necessary.
- Notify Fitness Director/Assistant Fitness Director of gym incidents that require incident reports.
- Assist members with exercises and spotting on the fitness floor whenever necessary.
- Other tasks and jobs as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma and/or G.E.D., with working knowledge of human Anatomy and Physiology.
- C.P.R./A.E.D. certification
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all members and employees.
- Clear understanding in usage of all resistance training and cardiovascular
equipment.
- Effective computer skills; Microsoft programs and Internet.
- Must have knowledge of and be up-to-date on current trends and techniques within the personal training arena of health & fitness.
Physical Demands:
- Physical demands include, but are not limited to lifting, bending, squatting, jumping, reaching, walking, and the ability to lift heavy weights.
