Job Description

The purpose of the position of In Room Dining Server is to serve food and beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, efficient and accurate manner - in the guest rooms. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork, excellent service and a passion for creating Kimpton moments.

Receive and take guest orders and process in a timely manner through whatever systems are currently used in the restaurant/resort and deliver to guest room.

Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests - as would be requested.

Perform side work to include table prep, glass cleaning, tray pick ups and amenities.

Open bottled wine for guests.

Bus and set tables and return tables/trays after guest is finished.

Assist with orders to go, as needed.

Deliver an in-room dining experience equal to that of one in the actual restaurant.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Communicate with support team and management. Work closely with the kitchen.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have full flexibility to the schedule and be able to work, based on the business needs of the hotel/restaurant and food handling certification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and food handler certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will need to push the room service carts to the various floors and carry trays.
