Position: SPECIAL PROJECTS MANAGER
Position Summary:
• Attends and participates in daily/weekly construction meetings between contractor and Loews management team.
• Establishes a clear line of communication between purchasing department and contractor’s warehouse representative.
• Maintain good record keeping files related to additional work orders and contractor request for added scope.
• Establishes good working relationship between contractor and subcontractor performing the work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents (i.e. construction drawings, material submittals, payment schedules) and be familiar with the design intent of the project.
• Assists the project manager in determining the contractor percentage of work completed for payment on a monthly basis.
• Notifies project manager of work activities completed in assigned areas and when guest rooms can be returned to hotel inventory.
• Communicates contractor needs to purchasing department.
• Completes appropriate records associated with work performed.
• Notifies supervisor/dispatcher as required upon completion of work assignment.
• Uses tools, equipment, materials and chemicals safely and efficiently according to manufacturer’s instructions/MSDS requirement.
• May work with hazardous materials and chemicals in the performance of duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Required:
• Post High school training in engineering/maintenance related discipline.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Strong mechanical background with minimum 2 years hands on experience in maintenance related, requiring journey level responsibility. Hospitality preferred.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift (up to 75lb) repetitively.
• Working knowledge of computer software to include inventory control, windows, word, excel, Power point, project and Access.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
• Must be guest oriented and posses excellent hospitality skills.
• Familiar with hotel emergency procedures and able to respond quickly and accurately to an emergency situation.
• Be familiar with hotel standards, policies and procedures.
• Be responsive to hotel management needs and requests as it relates to guest safety and convenience.
• Ability to use radios, pagers and other forms of communication
• Working knowledge of PC software programs
• Ability to perceive emergency conditions with equipment and respond in a preventative manner
• Must be able to perform training and coaching
• Knowledge of all cleaning procedures, equipment, supplies required for public areas, back of the house and kitchen cleaning
Preferred:
• Fluent in Spanish or Creole
• Degree in Hospitality Management
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 2+ years
