We are seeking a General Manager to OPEN our new Residence Inn in Largo, Maryland. This hotel is 101 suites and scheduled to open by July 31, 2013. The General Manager will be responsible for building the management and executive team at the hotel and developing the supporting staff. The Residence Inn is located next to FedEx Field and will have a sister hotel, a Courtyard by Marriott, being built next door.
The General Manager must lead by example, provide a superior level of service, and be a dynamic leader. Our hotel leader must have previous hotel opening experience and a strong revenue and financial management background, but most of all, must manager with the thought process of an owner.
Functions of the General Manager include:
* Establish cost & quality standards, maximize profits, develop and retain employees, while exceeding guest expectations
* Manage all sources of revenue, overall responsibility of rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering
* Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships
* Allocate funds, authorize expenses, and assist in budget planning
* Maintain accurate records including cash flow sheet, direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration cards, reservation cards, and credit cards
* Lead team in development and implementation of hotel-wide strategies
* Protect hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining preventative maintenance program
* Ensure adherence to hotel brand and franchise policies and established operating procedures while meeting or exceeding guest expectations by providing a safe, secure, & quality experience
* Ensure property hiring practices comply with all state and federal requirements
* Correspond with group and travel agents to handle special requests for rooms and rates
* Assist with sales and marketing efforts as needed
* All other duties as assigned
