Director of Marketing
Location: US - NY - New York
Iconic New York hospitality and attraction company seeks an experienced Marketing Director (MD) to be accountable for the strategies and tactics used to build the businesses. S/he will be an active collaborator with the Director of Sales and Chief Marketing Officer in product development, pricing and promotional strategies; and will build upon existing brand equities and work with senior management and the marketing team to create effective, well placed awareness and engagement platforms. The MD will also be responsible for reporting on the effectiveness of all marketing efforts using existing reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of Marketing strategy – tactical build out and presentation of plans and goals by business line (retail, groups, catering)
- Oversight of the brand – positioning, the voice of the brand, the look of the brand
- Accountable for marketing budget
- Conduct rigorous overall business and consumer/customer analysis
- Lead the day-to-day creative development process with agencies, in-house creative services and/or other related marketing resources to deliver world-class creative across the entire media-mix
- Applies ingenuity, creativity, analytical and organizational skills to identify and evaluate marketing strategies and tactics
- Management of the corporate marketing calendar – markets, tradeshows, PR
- Development of all brand-required support materials – for trade and retail
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of marketing experience with consumer products. Experience must also include 5 years of experience in a Marketing Director role.
- Current knowledge of emerging trends/event marketing experience
- Creative eye for persuasive, provocative, effective communication
- Strong analytic and strategic background with fluency in marketing measurement
- Passion for lifestyle brands especially in fashion, retail and luxury sectors
- Collaborative work style with passion for working in a sales-focused organization
- Energized in a fast-pace work environment with small teams and tight deadlines
- A self-starter who is highly organized and highly accountable
- Wholesale and Consumer Direct exposure
- Strong organization skills and demonstrated discipline
- Detail oriented: managed schedules, time and action plans, delivered reports
- Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with Social Media
