Responsible for maintaining the highest possible level of courteous and friendly service at all times. Ensure all residents and their guests are served quickly and efficiently and their overall dining experience is a pleasant one.
Job Responsibilities:
-Greet residents and guests.
-Obtain food and beverage orders from residents and their guests.
-Responsible for successfully up-selling food and beverage.
-Introduce residents to new quality products, such as new menu items, wine and spirits.
-Attend general meetings as necessary.
-Ability to suggest menu items to satisfy residents demands.
-Follow established service protocols.
-Generate orders to be transmitted to kitchen staff.
-Complete opening and closing side work.
-Operate essential equipment: MICROS, espresso machine, handhelds, blenders, juicers, chafing dishes, heat lamps, sternols, gueridons, potable tables, printer, telephone and radio.
-Organize and remember tasks so that guests are served properly and in a timely manner.
-Knowledge of Clubs amenities and services offered.
-Support Club and department goals of continuous improvement and learning by attending courses provided by the Club
-Professionally represent the Club at all times during shifts and/or when on property grounds for job related issues.
-Adhere to all various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, all of which make up the essential functions of the job.
-Be able to share knowledge with new employees.
-May be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of serving experience
Abilities and Skills:
Must be in compliance with state and local laws and Club policies pertaining to the selling of alcoholic beverages (i.e.:T.I.P.S. Training, Alcohol Awareness Training or Responsible Vendors Training); health card is required.
Able to use independent judgment to effectively respond to guest requests.
Must fluently speak, read and write and understand English.
Effective, pleasant speaking and listening abilities when communicating with members and team members.
Cooperative and positive attitude, exercising reason.
Must be able to stand up to 7 hours per day; length of time of these tasks may vary.
Must be able to work at a rapid pace, while maintaining attention to detail.
Must have a friendly and outgoing personality.
Must exhibit a STAR Service attitude, willing to go out of the way to accommodate and exceed the needs of Club members and guests.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate equipment such as multi-line tone phones and other general operating and/or office equipment.
Bilingual preferred.
Must have basic wine knowledge.
Able to lift and carry plates, trays, glasses, cups, coffee pots, pitchers, silverware, condiments and linen.
Able to handle stress of interacting with co-workers and guests, handling guest complaints and dealing with time constraints.
Ability to multi-task between member requests, operational issues and team member needs.
