Job Description

Perform the 3rd shift night audit operations to ensure the maintenance of financial controls, and compliance with hotel standards. Coordinate with other departments (i.e. Security, Housekeeping) to ensure quality service is provided to all guest by delivering outstanding customer service. Must have the ability to perform job duties as assigned, as well as interact with the guest in a positive and welcoming manner. Must have the desire to excell in both guest service and in jobs assigned. This highly trained position should have the ability to pick up both computer system well, and understand that integrity must be of the highest measure. Drug and Background checks will be performed on all final candidates.

 

Job Requirements

* Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.

* Ability to effectively deal with guest concerns in a friendly and positive manner.

* Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

* Prepare daily restaurant revenue reports data by auditing point of service tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier.

* Run audit reports/journals from the front office systems, point of service and computer.

* Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur through out the shift.

* Input into the front office system revenue/expenses/allowances to generate the daily reports such as the guest ledger summary and the daily restaurant summary.

* Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for the next day operations.

* Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information.

* Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from the computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Code electronic keys. Provide welcome folders containing room keys, or any related coupons .Requires continual standing and movement throughout front office area.

* Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.

* Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear English communication. Communicate messages left for the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.

* Close guest accounts at time of check out and make certain the quest stay was satisfactory.

* Take ownership of guests' challenges and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction.


Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.

* Provide safety deposit boxes for guest
.
* Operate facsimile machine to send and receive faxes as well as notify guests of incoming faxes.

* Use the photocopier to make copies of items as required.

* File registration cards in room number order.

* Retrieve registration cards from the files for each check out.
