Since his first hotel acquisition in 1982, Gary Tharaldson has owned over 350 hotel properties throughout the United States. Our Fredericksburg Residence Inn, is seeking a highly self-motivated, outgoing and energetic General Manager. The hotel is located within walking distance Spotslyvania Towne Center Mall and The Village, which features upscale shopping an fine dining. This hotel features 124 guest rooms ands suites and 600 sq feet of meeting space. The General Manager must lead by example, provide a superior level of service, and be a dynamic leader.

Functions of the General Manager include:
* Establish cost & quality standards, maximize profits, develop and retain employees, while exceeding guest expectations
* Manage all sources of revenue, overall responsibility of rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering
* Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships
* Allocate funds, authorize expenses, and assist in budget planning
* Maintain accurate records including cash flow sheet, direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration cards, reservation cards, and credit cards
* Lead team in development and implementation of hotel-wide strategies
* Protect hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining preventative maintenance program
* Ensure adherence to hotel brand and franchise policies and established operating procedures while meeting or exceeding guest expectations by providing a safe, secure, & quality experience
* Ensure property hiring practices comply with all state and federal requirements
* Correspond with group and travel agents to handle special requests for rooms and rates
* Assist with sales and marketing efforts as needed
* All other duties as assigned

The successful candidate should possess the following:
* Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university
* 2-5 years of direct management experience, brand experience preferred
* Experience and working knowledge in front and back office operations
* Proven strong leadership skills
* Valid Drivers License and clean driving record, with reliable transportation 24/7
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
* Proficient computer skills
* Detail Orientated
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Understanding of all areas of hotel operation
* Capability to work in a fast paced environment
* Provide professional image through appearance and dress
* Available nights, weekends, and holidays
