CATERING SALES  

 

Atlantis Banquets and Events is looking for a polished & experienced professional ready to take on a new challenge!

 

Our new 5000 + sq foot banquet and events facility, The Sea Star Ballroom as well the Aquarium is one of the most unique venues on Long Island. We have great selling features with the Hyatt Place East End right next door, overlooking the beautiful Peconic river and Treasure Cove Resort Marina. Position Scope

 

To provide unprecedented customer service while soliciting, selling developing, and growing our banquet / catering business in a profitable manner. To ensure budgeted financial results are achieved and exceeded in the above market while providing high-quality food and beverage customer service for all clients.  Oversee client functions to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

 

Areas of Responsibility

 

Sales Responsibility

 

Identify and solicit new banquet business. Both Social and corporate events with the main emphasis on large Social affairs.

 

Actively solicit /service and identify key existing and targeted accounts.

 

Detail events and work directly with customer and internal staff on all setup requirements of function space.

 

Maintain current complete customer files.

 

Follow up on all social leads from appointments through close of the contracted sales transaction. A minimum of 30 qualified sales calls per week, including site inspections, telephone calls and personal sales calls, which will be documented in weekly call log which is submitted to Director of Sales on a weekly basis.

 

Have good oral and written presentation skills.

 

Develop and update 30-60-90 day sales action plans to meet budget.

 

Maintain sales program entries and traces, Pencil files, and systems and procedures within the sales office according to published guidelines.

 

Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings as needed to develop business in assigned segments.

 

Provide input for annual marketing plan pertaining to catering and social groups.

 

Ensure all correspondence regarding weddings, meetings, and banquets is completed in a timely manner.

Must possess good computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the property’s sales management program.

 

5-10 years “Social” sales experience required
