Is seeking a
Director of Conference Services in the lower Catskills, upstate New York Connecticut border. .
Hotel/Resort experience is required as a Director or Assistant Senior Conference Services or DOC at a larger resort or currently this position as a similar size resort. There are 350 rooms with 30,000 feet of meeting space in a busy year round resort, selling complete and day meeting packages.
This is traditionally a Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm position (very few weekends, holidays, and nights)! What a great job that affords you to have a personal life!
The right candidate should feel comfortable directing the convention planning team in a full service upscale hotel/resort with strong F&B, golf, spa and other amenities.
***Should have full understanding of BEO process, pre and post cons with the meeting planner and hotel team, good working relationships with the sales staff, kitchen, banquet floor, housekeeping, audio visual, engineering, and front office teams.
***Should have good leadership & people skills and able to work independently.
***This is a good area to raise a family, low cost of living and good schools.
***Candidates should possess superior communication, negotiation and selling skills.
The Director of Conference Services is responsible for the management, coordination, and execution of group business turned over by the Sales Department.
This position monitors all contractual agreements pertaining to guest room blocks, meeting space, food & beverage and special concessions.
This role will also be responsible for effectively communicating to all hotel departments the information necessary to successfully execute the group's needs while maintaining good client relationships.
