Alaska Denali Travel is looking for a highly organized customer service oriented Assistant Manager to join our Denali Backcountry Lodge Team inside Denali National Park during the 2013 Summer Season.
Essential Functions:
- The primary responsibility of the Lodge Assistant Manager is to provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times.
- Assist General Site Manager in Lodge operations
- Provide direction, training, and development of employees.
- Works with guests to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.
- Enforce all Lodge policies and procedures.
- Supervises day-to-day activities of employees and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities.
- Being especially visible to guests during peak times of service, and to provide immediate assistance to guests as requested.
- Familiarization and ability to train and / or provide guidance in all lodge department processes.
- Managing guest service supply inventory.
- Waiting on guests during meals including the serving of alcoholic beverages.
- Gathering and forwarding guest information and requests to appropriate lodge departments for their immediate action.
- Periodic driving / guiding of guests to Wonder Lake in a fifteen (15) passenger van.
- Disseminates policies to employees, gives work directions, resolves problems, assists in preparing schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
- Daily communication with reservations office to ensure accuracy and usability of Lodge manifest.
- Operate motor vehicles as required.
- Must have current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must have current TAMS card.
- Able to move and lift supplies, equipment, and tools weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Other duties as needed.
- Two years of work experience in a similar position.
- Overall successful operations of property.
- Professional communication skills, oral and written.
- Actively supervises, motivates and disciplines employees.
- Organization and leadership skills.
- Works well under pressure.
- Can effectively solve problems.
- Able to give and receive direction.
- Excellent customer service skills.
