Alaska Denali Travel is looking for a highly energetic customer service oriented Guest Service Representative to join our Denali Backcountry Lodge Team inside Denali National Park during the 2013 Summer Season.

Essential Functions:

  1. The primary responsibility of the GSR is to provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times.
  2. Organize and maintain guide desk, program lodge, props, slides, and guide cubbyholes.
  3. Maintaining fishing gear and waders. Sell fishing licenses to guests and complete state license report summary.
  4. Organize and maintain guest hiking gear and rubber boots.
  5. Organize mountain bikes and equipment. Sign-out mountain bikes to guests, ensuring they follow all road regulations and policies.
  6. Organize and maintain library and art supplies.
  7. Clean and organize drying room, returning gear to the proper place.
  8. Driving guests in 15 passenger vans to Wonder Lake, adhering to NPS regulations.
  9. Clean and maintain vans and busses. - Bus washers do regular bus washing.
  10. Able to move and lift supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
  11. Loading buses with snacks, cookies and soft drinks.
  12. Assisting Bus Drivers as needed.
  13. Selling/collecting cash for gift items or bar tabs.
  14. Must have State of Alaska Food Worker’s Card.
  15. Provide basic information (hiking, rest-stop, safety, wildlife, activities) for Denali National Park.
  16. Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.

 

 

 Knowledge and Skills:

  • Two years of similar work experience.
  • A candidate with a degree or substantial practical experience in outdoor education, recreation, or related natural studies in Environmental Science will be preferred.
  • Organization skills.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Can effectively solve problems.
  • Able to give and receive direction.
  • Professional communication skills, oral and written.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
