Alaska Denali Travel is looking for a very talented highly energetic cook to join our Denali Backcountry Lodge Team inside Denali National Park the 2013 Summer Season.
Essential Functions:
- The primary responsibility of the Cook I is to provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times.
- Cook works breakfast lunch shifts and relieve dinner shift.
- Preparation and plating of meals, preparation of snacks, appetizers, and other meals including employee meals.
- Culinary planning, checking production, and keeping records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
- Able to move and lift culinary supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all ServSafe and applicable food regulatory rules and procedures.
- Implementation of kitchen-wide safety and sanitation practices as required by AK DEC and the ADT.
- Must have State of Alaska Food Worker’s Card.
- Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.
- Ability to cook large quantities, to read and follow recipes.
- Ability to maintain standards of safety and sanitation.
- Ability to work with and supervise kitchen employees and/or other helpers in the preparation of food.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work long hours while standing and under conditions of high temperature.
- The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Two years of prior work experience as Cook.
- Current State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
