Cook I

Alaska Denali Travel is looking for a very talented highly energetic cook to join our Denali Backcountry Lodge Team inside Denali National Park the 2013 Summer Season.

Essential Functions:

1. The primary responsibility of the Cook I  is to provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times. 
2. Cook works breakfast lunch shifts and relieve dinner shift.
3. Preparation and plating of meals, preparation of snacks, appetizers, and other meals including employee meals.  
4. Culinary planning, checking production, and keeping records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed. 
5. Able to move and lift culinary supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. 
6. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all ServSafe and applicable food regulatory rules and procedures. 
7. Implementation of kitchen-wide safety and sanitation practices as required by AK DEC and the ADT. 
8. Must have State of Alaska Food Worker’s Card.
9. Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.

• Ability to cook large quantities, to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to maintain standards of safety and sanitation.
• Ability to work with and supervise kitchen employees and/or other helpers in the preparation of food.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work long hours while standing and under conditions of high temperature.
• The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Two years of prior work experience as Cook.
• Current State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
