The Group & Meeting Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting national & local companies and organizations for Group Blocks & Meetings to include F&B catering/banquet services, and overseeing the servicing of clients. The Sales Manager is also responsible for meeting or exceeding established Group, Meeting, & Catering revenues goals as stated in budget.
 

  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
  • Initiate and follow up on Sales leads.
  • Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Account Coverage Program.
  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned.
  • Invite clients to the hotel for tours and site inspections.
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
  • Be familiar with Hotel sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and average rates, etc.  Participate in Revenue Meetings.
  • Work closely with Food & Beverage Manager, Chef, and Catering Sales Manager on large events.
  • Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST).
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events
  • Fully aware of Competitive Set accounts in order to move market share.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales Action Plan (KRA's)
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely basis.  Attend and participate in all Sales Meetings.
  • Maintain all files with current trace dated, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity

 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all contacts, guests, and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and possess attention to details and strive for excellence.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of 2 years successful Group Sales results within the Los Angeles Market.
  • Achieve monthly Group Room & Meeting Room Revenue Goals with the ultimate goal the budget.
  • Solicit accounts within assigned market segment, area, or move market share.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts, maintain aggressive weekly Sales Call goals, site, and inspections.
  • Follow-up promptly on leads generated by the National Sales Office or other Lead Sources.
  • Ability to sell meeting space and F&B needs as needed by Meeting Planner for large events.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Hilton Brand Sales experience highly preferred.
