Essential Functions:

 

  1. The primary responsibility of the Day Lodge Coordinator / Bartender is to provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times.
  2. Works with guests to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.
  3. Being especially visible to guests during peak times of service, and to provide immediate assistance to guests as requested.
  4. Oversee gift shop operation and sales.
  5. Bartending and serving at guest meals.
  6. Must have current TAMS card and State of Alaska Food Worker’s Card.
  7. Serving guests during meals, including alcoholic beverages. Seating guests, providing them with the menu of the day, making appropriate meal and beverage recommendations (wine, iced tea, soda, etc.), and answering questions regarding food preparation. Relaying the food information to the culinary team. Serving the guest the food requested, using proper rules of etiquette.
  8. Setting buffet lines for breakfast and lunch. Plating and attractively displaying food items.
  9. Setting and maintaining beverage and snack stations throughout the day.
  10. Bussing and cleaning dining room, lounge, tables, buffet lines, and beverage stations throughout the day.
  11. Assist culinary team as needed.
  12. Supervising or performing basic lodge cleaning / vacuuming / maintenance.
  13. Manage guest supply inventory.
  14. In addition to daily sanitation, complete weekly and monthly deep cleaning schedule.
  15. Able to move and lift supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
  16. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all HACCP and applicable food regulatory rules and procedures.
  17. Implementation of safety and sanitation practices as required by AK DEC and Alaskan Park Properties, Inc.
  18. Collect money for drinks served.
  19. Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  20. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  21. Balance cash receipts.
  22. Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking.
  23. Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
  24. Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
  25. Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
  26. Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Excellent knowledge of alcoholic beverages and mixed drinks
  • Valid TAMS and State of Alaska Food Workers Card
  • Able to work varied shifts including weekends and Holidays
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Must be at least 21 years old
