Govt. Sales Manager

The Government Sales Manager professionally represents the Portsmouth Renaissance in the development of the government market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with assigned accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue in rooms, public space, food and beverage and ancillary products and services.

• Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.
• Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
• Assists the Director of Sales with the implementation and achievement of the Sales Marketing plan.
• Attends and represents company at trade shows and various events.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Knowledge of DELPHI system.
• Strong solicitation/prospecting/negotiation skills.
• Participate as an active sales team member to benefit the overall sales department efforts and goals.
• Actively participate in industry related organizations.
• Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
• Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc.

Requirements-

• Bachelors Degree in Sales/Marketing and or at least 3 years experience in HOTEL sales.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and superior guest service skills.
• Must have flexible schedule to work at time on weekends.
